This visual shows an obviously distraught woman which pictures the idea of effects of sexual assault perfectly. It shows a woman who is mentally and emotionally disturbed which is exactly what plays out after such an incident. It's significant because it explains something that words can't - it shows the negativity that victims face after sexual assault and it paints the picture of how many victims feel. Anyone can give you statistics on sexual assault, but to see the pain and discomfort on a victim's face paints a more serious picture of the effects.

The effects of sexual assault on a student are more critical when in a college setting in regards to their mental, emotional, physical, and social health and academic standing, and the role the university plays in consequences is critical in adding onto these effects or lessening them. My research question is: What are the dire effects of sexual assault on a student in a college setting in regards to their mental, emotional, physical, and social health and academic standing, and what is the role of the university in adding onto to these effects or lessening them, in regards to their responsibility? I intend to answer this question by exploring the variety of effects that victims face after a sexual assault incident. I will explore these effects by researching court cases and personal testimonies, as well as researching statistics.
